{"id":19,"date":"2009-09-15T15:09:46","date_gmt":"2009-09-15T22:09:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicaldata.org\/?p=19"},"modified":"2009-09-15T15:19:27","modified_gmt":"2009-09-15T22:19:27","slug":"winedt-stata-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicaldata.org\/?p=19","title":{"rendered":"WinEdt &#038; Stata 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WinEdt, the editor of choice for many LaTeX users, can be used as Stata do-file editor in a fairly simple manner by installing <a title=\"Stata Mode for WinEdt\" href=\"http:\/\/www.winedt.org\/Config\/modes\/Stata.php\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Stata Mode<\/em><\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 However, as far as I can tell, the author of Stata Mode doesn&#8217;t appear to have anticipated Stata&#8217;s willingness to produce new versions &#8211; in extracting the path to the Stata executable it only looks for versions 8-10.\u00c2\u00a0 If you have version 11 this is easily fixed.\u00c2\u00a0 After unzipping Stata Mode, look for extract_path.edt and open it.\u00c2\u00a0 Change line 11 to:<\/p>\n<p>LetRegNum(8,11);<\/p>\n<p>Save\u00c2\u00a0 the file and the run the installation macro.
